Name Head of the Meadow Beach
Notes On July 29, 2018, at Head of the Meadow Beach, Truro, Cape Cod, about 4PM to 6PM, hundred of beach-goers witnessed thousand of brownish dragonflies flying parallel to the waterline, in a northwesterly direction (toward the Cape tip), flight level was about chest-high to about 15 feet high; some were mating as they flew. Amazing!!

Behavior Description Thousands of dragonflies, flying all in the same direction, toward the northwest (toward the Cape tip), parallel to the shoreline, 4ft to 15 ft above the sandy beach, where hundreds of beach-goers were vacationing, and then standing up to watch the dragonfly phenomenon. A few dragonflies appeared to be mating as they flew.
